“So far, one of the best albums of the year”

INCULTER – Persisting Devolution (Edged Circle Productions)

It’s been a while since a record got my head banging like this one. Inculter is a group of VERY young guys from Norway (all between 16 and 19) that plays some of the finest Thrash Metal you’re bound to hear for a while. Drawing influences from early Testament, Exodus, Sepultura, Sodom, hell, the list could go on, but Inculter still carve their own sound out of all of those influences. Persisting Devolution doesn’t contain one dud on the whole record, and the intensity kicks you in the teeth from beginning to end. It’s no wonder these guys have created quite the cult following, with their first demo selling out with lightning speed. Speaking of lightning speed, the songs on Persisting Devolution all maintain that great 80’s thrash speed, inciting heads to band and fists to pump without regard. These guys should be huge by this time next year. So far, one of the best albums of the year. (AP)
